Messenger Publications: Springtime collection
Messenger Publications Spring 2022 Catalogue » showcases new authors providing resources in Church ministry, popular Jesuit authors with additional insights, books for personal prayer and reflection, titles to facilitate growth in group settings, and a revised edition of a bestselling Fr Browne book.
Carolanne Henry, Communications Director of Messenger Publications, says:
We’re delighted to introduce books by two new authors, both very experienced in their respective fields: Patricia Carroll’s Becoming a Pastoral Parish Council mines her twenty-plus years working in the area of lay ministry and Paddy Shannon’s To Bring Comfort and Consolation is based on his own course on bereavement ministry in a parish setting.
Several of Messenger Publications’ spring books use the principles of Ignatian spirituality to facilitate personal prayer, encourage self-awareness and build a nourishing and participative spiritual life. Trust Your Feelings by Nikolaas Sintobin SJ explores how to look for clues in people’s innermost experience in order to guide behaviour; God in Every Day by Deirdre Powell encourages readers to seek God in their daily lives; and The Ignatian Guide to Forgiveness by Marina Berzins McCoy explores how to find freedom through forgiveness.
Brendan McManus SJ returns with two books: Discover God Daily, with co-author Jim Deeds, helps people to appreciate the ‘slow work of God’ (Teilhard de Chardin SJ) through the life of St Ignatius Loyola and Channelling the Inner Fire helps contemporary ‘searchers’ to find spiritual nourishment.
The Hearers of the Word series by Kieran J O’Mahony OSA comes to an end with the penultimate volume praying and exploring the readings for Lent and Holy Week and the final volume praying and exploring the readings for Easter and Pentecost, both for Year C.
Moreover, Carolanne Henry says:
We’re delighted to publish a new edition of Kenneth Milne’s very popular, A Short History of the Church of Ireland. And, as the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic approaches, we’ve published a new revised edition of the hugely-popular, Travelling on Titanic with Fr Browne SJ, featuring historically accurate colourised photographs and updated text.
