DESCRIPTION:There will be an exhibition on Fr Michael Bergin SJ (as circled in the photo) and the five other Jesuits who served as chaplains with the Australian forces in the First World War at Roscrea Library\, Tipperary\, October 2nd to 31st 2017. Fr Bergin holds the distinction of being the only member of the whole Australian forces to never to have set foot in Australia\, and the only Catholic chaplain serving to have died as a result of enemy action. DESCRIPTION:The Adult Education Certificate in Spirituality is a two-year part-time evening programme run in partnership with Lumen Dominican Centre\, Sion Hill Campus\, Blackrock\, Dublin. \nThe programme takes place on Thursday evenings from 7.00–9.30pm with a 30 minute tea break\, and there are six Saturday workshops each year from 10.00am–4.00pm. The programme involves a combination of teaching by experienced lecturers\, group discussion and the use of journaling. SUMMARY:Magis Jesuit event for young adults
DESCRIPTION:After a great pilgrimage to Poland last summer as part of preparations for World Youth Day\, the Irish Jesuits are organising another Magis (more or greater) event this summer for young adults aged 18-35. Taking place in Ireland from 22 – 29 July\, 2017\, participants can choose between 2 options: a pilgrimage from Dublin to Glendalough or a faith and ecology experience in Wicklow Town. The group will be joined by other young people from Europe. Those who are interested in this Magis event can get in touch with Niall Leahy SJ at nleahy@jesuit.ie. The cost is €140 for those who are employed and €100 for students or unemployed.

SUMMARY:Scholarship for Religious Education teachers
DESCRIPTION:The Loyola Trust has announced a scholarship for RE teachers to do a new MPhil in Christian Theology at the Loyola Institute in Trinity College Dublin. This will give teachers the opportunity to widen and deepen their theology for the benefit of students. The course will commence in September 2017 and can be completed over one or two years. The deadline for applications is 14 June 2017.

SUMMARY:Pilgrimage to the Heart\, Connecting with our Gaelic Christian Roots
DESCRIPTION:This year we’re returning to Inis Mór\, but so as to make the most of the day are offering two evenings beforehand on pilgrimage\, described as ‘our path through life guided by the compass of our heart’. Inspired by St Ignatius\, the first evening will invite us to consider our own pilgrim journey. In the second evening\, we’ll be joined by Pádraigín Clancy\, a specialist in Gaelic Christian spirituality\, who will prepare the way for those who wish to meet her on Inis Mór on Friday 9 June\, feast of St Colm Cille. The two preparation evenings are on Thursday 25 & Tuesday 30 May 2017. The optional pilgrimage to Inis Mór will take place on Friday 9 June. There is a cost of €30 for both evenings. All details of the day on Inis Mór will be ready nearer the day.
