SUMMARY:AUG20: 8-day Directed Retreat
DESCRIPTION:These retreat days of individual guidance help you to recognise and attend to where God is in your life. The directed retreat is intended to create an environment where you can meet God intimately and discover that you are uniquely loved and called by God. The retreatant is offered the opportunity to meet with the director every day\, to be accompanied their review of the prayer and reflection. ‘Directed’ or ‘individually guided’ retreats have become part of the core ministry of Manresa. There are several key factors in the directed retreat which help you on its journey of discovery: personal prayer\, reflection\, silence\, daily meeting with a director and participation in the Eucharist.

SUMMARY:JUL31: Mass - Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola
DESCRIPTION:Mass for the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola will be celebrated in St. Francis Xavier’s Church. The homilist will be Fr. Gerry O’Hanlon SJ who will speak about Pope Francis\, “The Ignatian Influence”. \n“For Paul it came along the road to Damascus\, for Ignatius in his house at Loyola\, but the fundamental point is the same: to allow oneself to be conquered by Christ. I seek Jesus\, I serve Jesus\, because He sought me first\, because I was conquered by Him: and this is the heart of our experience. But He is first\, always.” \nPope Francis\,  July 31 2013 (Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola)

SUMMARY:JUL30: 3 day Retreat - Summer and Sabbath
DESCRIPTION:Pick up on a summer mood by seeking to spend some time apart in an unhurried and peaceful way: a real ‘sabbath time with God’ for yourself. In an atmosphere of gentle quiet\, participants will be helped to ponder Scripture and to become attentive to the signs of God in their lives and in the world around them. There will be some suggestions for prayer using images from art\, poetry and music. Space for personal quiet time and some sharing will be built into the day. Opportunities for guided and common prayer or to meet a spiritual director will be among the options available. This retreat is intended especially for lay people whose available time is limited.

SUMMARY:JUN17: Steps2Serenity - 12 Step Meditation and Prayer Evening
DESCRIPTION:Manresa offers an opportunity to people on twelve-step programmes to deepen their awareness of themselves as they seek to improve their conscious contact with God “as they understand him.” For very many people\, and especially those involved in a 12-Step Programme\, the Serenity Prayer offers a vision of life that is rooted in faith\, open to new possibilities\, and yet serene in the face of limitations. God\, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference. No need to book. Just come along yourself\, or a friend or anybody who you think may benefit from an evening of prayer and meditation in a safe and peaceful environment. All are very welcome.

SUMMARY:MAY26: 4-day Directed Retreat
DESCRIPTION:4-day Directed Retreat (26-30 May)  ‘Directed’ or ‘individually guided’ retreats have become part of the core ministry of Manresa. The retreat’s days of individual guidance help you to recognise and attend to where God is in your life. There are several key factors in the directed retreat which help you on its journey of discovery: personal prayer\, reflection\, silence\, daily meeting with a director and participation in the Eucharist. The directed retreat is intended to create an environment where you can meet God intimately and discover that you are uniquely loved and called by God. The retreatant is offered the opportunity to meet with the director every day\, to be accompanied their review of the prayer and reflection.
