SUMMARY:MAY05: Wake up to Life - de Mello Meditation Evening
DESCRIPTION:Remembering Anthony de Mello SJ\, and the spirit he brought to the people of God\, this series of evenings will be based on some of de Mello’s basic principles for wholesome living\, using guided meditations and fantasy exercises. The use of imagination\, awareness exercises\, group discussion and creative visualisation helps to awaken greater awareness of our giftedness and to open up new pathways to God. \nDirected by John Callanan SJ \nAnthony de Mello (1931-1987) was an Indian Jesuit priest who combined in a unique way the spirituality of St. Ignatius Loyola and elements from ancient eastern traditions. An internationally renowned spiritual guide\, writer and public speaker\, Fr de Mello travelled widely to all parts of the world\, including Ireland\, before his untimely death at the age of fifty-six. These evenings will help those who are interested in understanding de Mello’s message and in using it in their daily lives.

SUMMARY:MAY26: 4-day Directed Retreat
DESCRIPTION:4-day Directed Retreat (26-30 May)  ‘Directed’ or ‘individually guided’ retreats have become part of the core ministry of Manresa. The retreat’s days of individual guidance help you to recognise and attend to where God is in your life. There are several key factors in the directed retreat which help you on its journey of discovery: personal prayer\, reflection\, silence\, daily meeting with a director and participation in the Eucharist. The directed retreat is intended to create an environment where you can meet God intimately and discover that you are uniquely loved and called by God. The retreatant is offered the opportunity to meet with the director every day\, to be accompanied their review of the prayer and reflection.
