SUMMARY:Dive Deeper: Exploring Spirituality & Ways of Prayer
DESCRIPTION:This is a group for adults age 30-45 approximately who wish to explore contemporary spirituality and spiritual practice. The group has a contemplative approach\, drawing on Christian spirituality and Eastern practices such as mindfulness. The aim is to help you find a way of prayer that works for you and that will cultivate inner awareness\, stillness\, and insight. Each session will introduce a way of prayer or meditation. Forms of prayer to be explored include: \nFranciscan prayer – Autumn reflection – Connecting with the Inner Child – Scripture and Imagination – Praying the Psalms – Cultivating joy – Prayer and nature – Centering prayer – Praying with the Book of Kells – Music and prayer. \nThe group will meet for 10 sessions; feel free to drop in at any stage. \nDates 2017-2018: Oct 18; Nov 1\, 15; Christmas date TBC; Jan 17; Feb 7\, 21; March 7\, 21. \nTime: 7.30-9.00pm. \nLocation: The Jesuit Centre of Spirituality and Culture\, 6 Ely Place\, Sea Road\, Galway. \nCost: Suggested donation €5 per session. \nContact: Amy Hallett at 086 7330905 or Kieran Hayes at 087 7433467. DESCRIPTION:20 students will graduate with a Masters in Applied Spirituality at Waterford Institute of Technology on 1 November (All Saints Day). It will be the first time in this country that an Institute of Technology will graduate students of the programme. A special note of congratulations to Michael Punch\, chair of the St. Francis Xavier parish council and former Jesuit novice; Gabrielle Jin\, a Chinese lay missionary who obtained a first-class honours BA from All Hallows; and to Noel Keating who will be conferred with a PhD in spirituality.

Timothy is rector of the Parish of Helen’s Bay in Down Diocese while Brian is Secretary of Dialogue for Diversity and lives in Belfast. The book will be launched by Revd Denis Campbell on Thursday 30 November at 6pm in St John’s Church Hall\, Fort Road\, Helen’s Bay.
