SUMMARY:Dive Deeper: Exploring Spirituality & Ways of Prayer
DESCRIPTION:This is a group for adults age 30-45 approximately who wish to explore contemporary spirituality and spiritual practice. The group has a contemplative approach\, drawing on Christian spirituality and Eastern practices such as mindfulness. The aim is to help you find a way of prayer that works for you and that will cultivate inner awareness\, stillness\, and insight. Each session will introduce a way of prayer or meditation. Forms of prayer to be explored include: \nFranciscan prayer – Autumn reflection – Connecting with the Inner Child – Scripture and Imagination – Praying the Psalms – Cultivating joy – Prayer and nature – Centering prayer – Praying with the Book of Kells – Music and prayer. \nThe group will meet for 10 sessions; feel free to drop in at any stage. \nDates 2017-2018: Oct 18; Nov 1\, 15; Christmas date TBC; Jan 17; Feb 7\, 21; March 7\, 21. \nTime: 7.30-9.00pm. \nLocation: The Jesuit Centre of Spirituality and Culture\, 6 Ely Place\, Sea Road\, Galway. \nCost: Suggested donation €5 per session. \nContact: Amy Hallett at 086 7330905 or Kieran Hayes at 087 7433467. DESCRIPTION:These evenings create a ‘sacred space’ for you to open your heart to the Word of God\, helping you to prepare to celebrate God’s great love for us. You can come for any one evening\, or all seven as you wish. No need to book – just come along. DESCRIPTION:Irish Jesuit Niall Leahy’s annual Saint Patrick’s Day Mass will feature on Bavaria television and its online website on March 18 at 3.30pm (German time). The programme\, which was filmed last year on St Patrick’s weekend in Munich\, shows the parade and Fr Ray Kelly “the singing priest” as the main celebrant at the Mass. One day after the air date the show will also be available on the BR Mediathek website.

DESCRIPTION:The rector Fr Michael Sheil SJ and headmaster Mr CJ Lumb extend a warm invitation to parents\, alumni\, and friends of Clongowes Wood College SJ to attend the annual Easter liturgy of Tenebrae\, which will take place on Wednesday 21 March at 9pm in the school’s Sports Hall. The hour long event of the semi-dramatised re-telling of the Passion and Death of Christ will include the acclaimed young soprano\, Ioana Constantin-Pipelea\, cellist Jane Hughes and tenor Chris Currid joining the Clongowes Schola.

DESCRIPTION:The Loyola Institute is pleased to welcome Sébastien Maillard to speak on Brexit and Europe\, a political and spiritual challenge on Wednesday 28 March\, 7.30 pm. Sébastien Maillard is the Director of the Jacques Delors Institute\, Paris.  Prior to this he was a journalist at the leading French daily newspaper La Croix. An expert in European affairs Maillard has taught at Sciences Po (Paris) and Boston College. He is author of “What We Have made of Europe?” (edited by Salvator\, 2013). This event will be chaired by Noelle O Connell\, Executive Director\, European Movement Ireland. It will be located at Long Room Hub\, Trinity College Dublin.
