Sacred Space for Kiwis
Paul Andrews SJ (pictured here in fishing mode) has rejoined the editorial staff of AMDG Express after working for four months in the rural parish of Gore in the South Island of New Zealand. The journalists who interviewed him there, one diocesan and one secular, were intrigued to hear about the Sacred Space website as a way of helping people of all persuasions, and 22 different language groups, to reach out to God. Paul commended it as the evangelism of the future: “It’s gentle, and it’s not intruding on people. People can tune in if they want to, and turn off when they want to. They are not trapped until the end of a sermon.” In contrast to pew-sitters, the number of people connecting with God on the website is rising.
