‘Sixty years of service’

oldbelv_01_0The Archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin (pictured here listening to Br Eamon Davis SJ), recently launched a DVD and history booklet of The Belvedere Society of our Lady of Lourdes. The Society, founded by former pupil and Ireland rugby player Eugene Davy, celebrates ’60 Years of Service’ this year. Each September, 22 students travel to Lourdes for the first time with sick pilgrims from Dublin, as part of the larger Dublin Diocesan and Oblate pilgrimages. The booklet (compiled by Conor Gannon) and DVD (produced by Adam Lowe) chart school pupils’ experiences of those pilgrimages over six decades. Honorary secretary of the Society Eoin Carroll says, “Between forty and sixty Old Belvederians return each year – an impressive number!” If you would like a copy of the booklet and DVD (€10) please email: [email protected].
