Pope Video: Missionary disciples
In The Pope Video for October 2021, Pope Francis asks all people to be missionary disciples in their everyday life, in their daily work, bearing witness to their encounter with Jesus and living with the flavor of the Gospel.
During the month in which the synodal process begins and World Mission Day is celebrated, Francis encourages people to be “available to answer His call and to live united to the Lord in the most common daily things—work, meeting other people, our daily duties, the chance events of each day—allowing ourselves to be guided always by the Holy Spirit.”
Referring to the many evangelisers who pass on the faith, Irish Jesuit Paddy Carberry says:
“Parents have a unique role in making the Gospel known and lived within the home, often with the help of the extended family. Teachers are in a privileged position to influence their students, not just by what they say but by how they put it into practice.
Friends and neighbours can be inspiring models of Gospel values. ‘Every Christian’, Pope Francis tells us, ‘is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelisation’”.
