‘Joyful Faith!’ is a 4-day Summer Retreat taking place at Manresa, Jesuit Centre of Spirituality from 14-19 August. Preaching in troubled El Salvador in 1980, Oscar Romero proclaimed, “God is not a God of sadness but a God of celebrations and feasts, a God of happiness. Therefore in the heart of people who have faith there is no room for pessimism.” This retreat invites you to spend some time with people such as Edith Stein, John XXIII, Dorothy Day and Oscar Romero, considering what inspired them and how they can encourage us in our Christian lives. Daily talks will be matched with times of prayer, reflection and silence. The retreat will be directed by Avril O’Regan RLR and Brendan Comerford SJ.
