Fresh shoots at Manresa

Visitors to Manresa Jesuit Centre for Spirituality this year will have noticed the parking spaces filling up many nights. As well as the retreats, which remain an important focus, other new events have attracted large numbers. The Spiritual Exercises have been adapted by the Manresa team to suit a wider range of  lay people in particular. The training programme in Spiritual Direction now involves mostly lay people, as does Nurturing Faith and Prayer. And in addition to the usual evening programmes – Making Space for Faith and Prayer and seasonal Prayer Evenings – there are now some new entries: Movies that Matter, A Renewed Vision for our Church, Wake up to Life, and Insights from the Mystics. “Our hope is that, wherever people are in their journey of faith, Manresa will have something to help them along the way,” says Director Paddy Carberry SJ.
