  • pmcverry_08Sunday 5 December at 7.30pm in St Patrick’s Cathedral: Fr Peter McVerry will be the Guest Speaker at a Christmas Carol Concert  in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust, hosted by Pat Kenny and featuring the Dublin Gospel Choir, Tallaght Choral Society, RTÉ Cór na nÓg, Nikki Kavanagh and Appassionata String Quartet.
  • The Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice has developed a Facebook page: www.facebook.com/jcfj.ie. It will report on the activities of staff members and give news from the centre.
  • Ger Brennan, a former Belvederian who plays Gaelic for Dublin, and works with the Catholic Youth Council, has been preparing young people for next year’s World Youth Day in Madrid, and spoke at the recent launch of the John Paul II awards, which encourage young people’s involvement in social justice projects.
  • The  oratorio “Martyrs of Kosice”, by Slovak composer Pavol Krska, based on three Jesuit martyrs, was premiered  to great acclaim on October 9 in Kosice’s Trinity Church, which is the historical place of the martyrdom. It  highlighted the 350th anniversary of the Jesuit University of Kosice.
