The centenary of the death of a Fr John Gwynn SJ will occur on 12 October 2015. He was the first Irish Jesuit chaplain to die in the First World War. In honour of Fr Gwynn’s work with the Irish Guards, the Sacred Heart Church, Catherham, Surrey, England will be holding this special Mass. [email protected]John Gwynn was born at Youghal, county Cork (n.12 June 1866) and educated at St. Ignatius College Galway and St. Stanislaus College, Tullabeg.
