Communion with Christ and with one another: Become what you receive
Donal Neary SJ
Publisher: Veritas
Archbishop Diarmuid Martin launched Donal Neary SJ’s latest publication, Become What You Receive, on Friday 4 May. His booklet of prayers and scripture reflections, celebrates and commemorates the 50th International Eucharistic Congress, 2012.
Donal is parish priest of Gardiner Street, Dublin, and member of the Dublin Diocesan Eucharistic Congress Preparatory Committee.
The booklet is beautifully illustrated and the quotations and prayers mirror the themes of the Congress. Alongside traditional and well known Eucharistic prayers are reflections from modern-day thinkers. Appropriate scripture quotations are complemented by musings of the Early Fathers and latter day theologians.
Talking about the book in an interview with Pat Coyle (listen here), Donal says that, as well as being of use to people in their personal prayer, it will also be of value to the many groups of people who are even now preparing for the Congress, intent on making it a rewarding experience of communion with those who come and those who need our Christian service in the times ahead. ‘Become What You Recieve’, published by Veritas, costs €4.99. It’s also available in the Gardiner St Church Shop, Dublin 1.
