Belvedere College SJ: Sleep out 2025
Students, staff, and past pupils of Belvedere College SJ will be taking part in the 42nd Christmas SleepOut for the homeless, from 22-24 December 2025 in Dublin’s city centre, outside the GPO. Former professional footballers, Roddy Collins and Paul McGrath, are supporting the cause on their social media platforms. Last year the students and staff raised a record breaking €330,791.67, and they hope to raise even more this year, as homelessness figures reach an all-time high. Already TY students have raised over €70,000 from the SleepOut in their gardens last week.
All the money raised will go to Focus Ireland, and the Jesuit Refugee Centre Ireland, where the money raised will enable JRS to help asylum seekers in dire straits accommodation wise.

Finding a Place to Call Home
Belvedere College Sleep-Out is almost an institution on the streets of Dublin. When we started this campaign in 1983 with just 12 students we never imagined that our society would be facing its largest number of homeless persons ever in 2025.
We thought we had hit that record in 2022 when there were over 11,000 homeless. That figure jumped to over 12,000 in 2023, almost 15,000 in 2024, and now in 2025 its even higher at almost 16,500. Where will it end?
There are so many factors at play with the homeless crisis – lack of affordable housing, excessive rent prices, an unprecedented influx of people fleeing war, and other factors as they seek to find a place to call home in Ireland. We are just grateful that we can do something to respond.
