Healing for the soul

Una Allen is coordinator of Towards Peace », a service funded by the Catholic Church in Ireland, for survivors of abuse by church members. Its sister organisation, Towards Healing » is a counselling service for such survivors, but as Una Allen explains in this interview with Pat Coyle of Irish Jesuit Communications, Towards Peace offers a spiritual accompaniment service, free of charge, to help survivors work through the moral and spiritual harm they may have experienced through their abuse, be it sexual, physical or spiritual.

The service is also available to families of survivors, and there are trained spiritual directors (male, female, lay, religious, and clerical) across Ireland, so concerned people can be matched with those they would prefer to accompany them. Listen to the full interview above.
