Pope Video: For evangelization in the city
In his prayer intention for August 2026, distributed by the Popes Worldwide Prayer Network », Pope Leo invites us to pray “For the evangelization of the city so that the Church might know how to reach out to everyone, offering comfort, community, and the joy of the Gospel in every corner of the city.”
One of the central themes of the Pope’s prayer is that cities, despite being full of people, can also be places of profound loneliness. It asks Christ to help the Church become a visible sign of hope through welcoming communities, compassionate presence, and simple acts of love, so that no one feels forgotten or invisible. It also reminds each believer that evangelization begins not only with words, but with lives that reflect Christ’s love in everyday encounters.
