Sons of Ignatius Movie

I didn’t get around to sending an email in October so this email is overdue! In any case, I hope you are all keeping well and confident in the Lord. As always, here are a few things that might be of interest to you.

Sons of Ignatius film

Our new vocations film, Sons of Ignatius, is now available to watch online. It is a mix of vocation stories and information on the Jesuit way of life. I hope you find it inspiring. https://www.jesuit.ie/who-we-are/

Cause of Fr. Willie Doyle SJ

The cause of Irish Jesuit Fr. Willie Doyle SJ, has opened. He died as a chaplain in World War I. You can find out more about Fr. Willie here. https://williedoyle.org/

St. Stanislaus Kostka

Yesterday, 13th November was the feast day of St. Stanlislaus Kostka SJ. He died very young, as a novice in fact. In the next episode of Sons of Ignatius podcast we talk about how some Jesuit saints have a lot of work and achievements to show at the end of their lives, but some, like Stanislaus, don’t. Stanislaus is also discussed in this article about the Jesuit way to holiness. https://www.thinkingfaith.org/articles/jesuit-way-toward-holiness

Enquirers weekend

We will have a weekend for enquirers from 9th – 11th December in Gardiner St. Community in Dublin. It’s a chance to meet other young men who are discerning and to learn more about the Jesuit way of life. Please let me know if you would like to attend.

Week of guided prayer

A week of guided prayer is a taster of the Spiritual Exercises. You commit to praying with Scripture for 30 minutes every day and you talk to a prayer guide about your prayer a few times during the week. My parish in Dublin will run such a week during the first week of Advent. You can get information and sign up here. FYI if you do not live in Dublin you can meet your prayer guide on Zoom.

Every good wish and prayer,

Fr. Niall
