Pray with the Pope: For disarmament and peace
In his prayer intention for March 2026, distributed by the Popes Worldwide Prayer Network » Pope Leo invites us to pray “That nations lay down their weapons, adopt diplomacy and justice, and seek true security founded on trust and solidarity among peoples.”
In his video message, Pope Leo reflects on the deeper calling of humanity, reminding us that “God created humanity for communion, not for war.” He encourages us to pray that nations may “Renounce weapons and the arms race, that leaders may have the courage to choose dialogue instead of conflict, and that people everywhere may learn to disarm their hearts of hatred, resentment, and indifference.”
The Pope also warns about the grave danger posed by nuclear weapons, expressing his hope that “The nuclear threat will never again dictate the future of humanity.”
Through prayer and commitment to peace, he invites all people to work toward a world “Where trust, justice, and solidarity guide relations among nations.”
The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network has launched a new global initiative: a website, Pray with the Pope, featuring the Pope’s monthly intention videos and instructions on how to pray, available in both written and audio formats. Click here to visit the website ».
