Jesuits for Climate Justice in Bonn

From June 8–18, the 64th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Subsidiary Bodies (SB64) will take place in Bonn, Germany. A small Jesuit team will be present in Bonn throughout the meetings, providing updates, reflections, and insights from the conference.The multilateral gathering serves as a key milestone on the path toward COP31, which will be held later this year.

As part of the Jesuits for Climate Justice campaign, the Secretariat for Social Justice and Ecology (SJES) of the Society of Jesus continues to accompany international climate processes and strengthen advocacy efforts in support of climate justice, care for our common home, and the voices of communities most affected by the climate crisis.

SJES has prepared a communications initiative that will run throughout the event that includes the following resources:

Daily Prayer Guide

From June 8–18, a daily reflection will be shared each morning through the Secretariat’s social media channels, in collaboration with GIAN and the SJES website, while also engaging partner institutions across the Jesuit network.

Conference Newsletters

Five newsletters will be published during the conference on June 8, 10, 13, 16, and 18. These updates will provide highlights from the negotiations and discussions.

Daily Updates from Bonn

Throughout the conference, the Secretariat will share a daily photo or short video on social media, offering a glimpse into the events, encounters, and reflections emerging from Bonn.
