St Francis Xavier Church in Gardiner St Dublin 1 expects a large crowd as ever for the Holy Week and Easter ceremonies and events. On Wednesday, PP Niall Leahy SJ welcomed pilgrims who had walked from Milltown Park as part of a Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage which culminated in an hour-long vigil of prayer and solidarity for and with the suffering people there.

That evening an reconciliation service with confessions took place at 7.30pm. See below the timetable for further liturgies and events in the parish church over the Easter Triduum and beyond.

Holy Week Timetable

Holy Thursday 28 March – 7.30pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper followed by Holy Hour at the Sacred Heart Chapel (No 11am or 1pm Mass) Good Friday 29th March -12 pm Stations of the Cross around the Parish, 3pm Liturgy of the Passion Holy Saturday 30th March – 9 pm Easter Vigil Easter Sunday 31st March – Mass at 9.15am & 11am, Egg hunt after 11am Mass. (No 7.30pm Mass) Holy Week Play – ‘Pilate under Pressure’, a new play by Sean Walsh will have a first preview in the Church on Tuesday 26 March at 7.30 pm. Admission free.

Easter week of guided prayer

Gardiner Street Parish will host an Easter week of daily guided prayer from April 7 – April 13. Participants will be paired with an experienced prayer guide and meet with them each day to pray and discuss stories from the Bible. For further information click here.
