mosullivan_01“Groundbreaking”, was how Professor Linda Hogan (right in picture) described Michael O’Sullivan SJ’s new book, How Roman Catholic Theology Can Transform Male Violence against Women’, launched in All Hallows College, Dublin, on Thursday 9 May. “His theological analysis of male violence against women brings a new and unique perspective to bear on the discussion about the sexist substrata of the Christian tradition. It treads where few male theologians have previously gone.” Over one hundred Jesuits, friends and collegues attended the launch and heard  the book described as a work of academic rigour and the fruit of many years of deep personal engagement with the reality of violence in women’s lives. Michael O’Sullivan said his work is also linked  in with with the call to Jesuits in decree in GC34, to engage with the situation of women in Church and society.
