Last week saw the ordination of the first Vietnamese Jesuit to be ordained a bishop, Cosmas Hoang Van Dat SJ (pictured here).
- The Irish Times carried an article about Fr Tony O’Riordan’s pre-budget press release about the need not to increase the burden on the less-well-off. “The current economic crisis,” Tony said, “challenges this country with profound questions as to the values and priorities we should adopt to guide us through these difficult times”.
- Nuala O’Donohue, who was very involved in Slí Eile in the early days, is feared drowned off the Sonoma Coast, California. She was particularly involved with the Gardiner Street Gospel Choir Mass and the Zambia Solidarity trips in 2001- 2003. Her family have requested people’s prayers.
