Crescent en el Camino

Twelve Leaving Certificate students in Crescent College are gearing themselves for a further challenge when the exams are over: they will walk the pilgrim path to Compostella, some starting 800 km away in the south of France, others joining them from different locations along the way, following an 11-year-old Crescent tradition. Some of them were inspired for this pilgrimage by their experience of a 3-day pilgrimage retreat on foot through the mountains of Tipperary and Waterford, via Mount Melleray Abbey, to the peace chapel in the C. of I. Cathedral in Lismore. Students appreciate the sense of camaraderie that develops through sharing the challenges and rewards of tackling the outdoors, and of group spiritual exercises. After the completion of their 6th Year Pilgrimage retreat they often get a sense that they would like to do something more. Vaya con Dios!
