A Year of Ignatian Prayer for Busy Lives

The Sacred Space Prayer Book 2027 has just been published in Ireland and the UK by Messenger Publications. The book is built on the content of the popular online prayer site Sacred Space, and this latest edition offers a year-long guide for anyone seeking to slow down, reflect and deepen their relationship with God amid modern life’s demands.

“As autumn arrives, so does a longstanding companion for prayerful living: Sacred Space the Prayer Book 2027,” says Carolanne Henry, Communications and Publications Executive with Messenger Publications. “Finding quiet in a hectic world can be difficult,” she adds, explaining that Sacred Space the Prayer Book responds to that need by translating the website’s daily rhythm of prayer into a portable, structured resource. “Each day includes a Scripture reading with brief points for reflection, and every week focuses on a theme explored through six Ignatian steps of prayer, drawing directly on the spiritual practices associated with St. Ignatius of Loyola.”

The book’s prayers and reflections are written by members of the Irish Province of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) and gathers the core tools of Ignatian prayer in one place, guiding readers through a full year of contemplative practice. Its format is designed to accompany personal spiritual journeys, helping users pay attention to everyday experiences, discern meaning, and grow in communion with God.

Carolanne says this publication would make a thoughtful gift for friends, family, parishioners “or for yourself as this 2027 edition invites readers to reclaim a prayerful rhythm in daily life as the new season begins.”
