Action Research
David Coghlan SJ, Associate Professor Emeritus of Business Studies at Trinity College Dublin, speaks with Pat Coyle, Director of Communications for the Irish Jesuits, about his life, the surprise of feeling a calling to be an academic, the spirituality of being a scholar, and his best-selling academic book Doing Action Research in Your Own Organization.
David is the only action research academic in Ireland. He tells Pat that action research is acquiring knowledge by doing something. He says that Ignatian Spirituality runs parallel with action research. Having an experience, reflecting on the experience, planning and then doing something about it.
The sixth edition of his landmark book is currently in the works and will be published next year.
