Manresa: Praying together on Zoom

Throughout the season of Lent, Manresa, the Jesuit Centre for Spirituality in Clontarf, facilitated prayer for 30 minutes each Wednesday evening via Zoom. The prayer was led by different people, on invitation and an average of 50 people from different countries joined the Zoom each week.
According to Joe Greenan, the new Director of Manresa, each prayer leader chose their own prayer template so that over the seven weeks of Lent, all those who took part were introduced to different ways of praying together.
Joe says the feedback from participants was really encouraging and you can read below some of the comments received.
“Thank you for the lovely weekly gatherings organised during Lent. I looked forward to the prayer each week and left feeling restored in body and spirit. What a beautiful accompaniment to the sacred season”
“We, in Manresa are grateful for the opportunity to avail of Zoom to pray with people. Different nationalities were represented and it was a joy for us to be with so many people.”
“We felt God’s guiding hand each week as we prayed together.”
“Many thanks to our seven prayer leaders who prepared the prayer so beautifully.”
“May Easter bring a renewed sense of being Christian so that we continue to share peace, love, and care to all.’
Meanwhile, the extensive renovation and building work taking place in Manresa over the last two years is nearing completion and the centre should be open and running within the next few weeks. Joe Greenan says he and his team look forward to welcoming familiar faces and new faces to Manresa.
