Eamon Ryan: ‘Peaceful, passionate politics’

In this episode of the podcast series Sons of Ignatius Father Niall Leahy SJ is in conversation with Eamon Ryan, former Minister for the Environment, former Green Party Leader and former Gonzaga College SJ student.
The pair met in Rome at Castle Gandolfo, near Rome, whilst attending the ‘Raising Hope’ conference, an event to mark ten years since the publication of Laudato Sí, Pope Francis’ encyclical on the care of the earth. Pope Leo opened and attended the gathering.
Both men reflect on the conference and discuss topics such as, faith, environmentalism and public service. Eamon also recalls his days as a pupil in Gonzaga and speaks about Kennedy O’Brien SJ and Joe Brennan SJ who taught there. Click the link above to listen.
