‘Finding God in All Things’ in thirty seconds!

Niall Leahy SJ is one of many Jesuits who features in this short video to mark the feast day of their founder St Ignatius, 31 July. The aim of the video is to celebrate Ignatian Spirituality on the feast day by featuring Jesuits from across European countries sharing their personal reflections on the well known Ignatian imperative of ‘Finding God in All Things.’ (Click here to watch a short video of each Jesuit speaking the phrase in their own language »).

Each Jesuit who took part considered two questions: 1. What does ‘Finding God in All Things’ mean to you? 2. How can this be applied or lived out in everyday life? Commenting on this process Niall Leahy SJ says, “We were asked to distil our answers to the two questions into 30 seconds, and absolutely no longer than a minute. I found that a real challenge. But somehow I managed it because on reflection what stood out for me was that everything in this world is a gift from God and God is in the gift.

The final video was edited and compiled by the Jesuit communications team in Britain from the various videos they received. It shows the internationality of Ignatian spirituality and the global reach of the Society of Jesus. And those involved hope to connect with people by sharing how Ignatian spirituality can be lived today in everyday life.
