Lent is here!
Lent is the season of prayer, fasting and almsgiving…in secret. This Lent may your secret life with God be a true source of consolation for you and may you hear what the Lord is whispering in the secret of your heart.
Bl. John Sullivan
Blessed John Sullivan is a great example for us during the season of Lent. Last Sunday, 19th February, marked 90 years since his death. The countless personal testimonies of favours received through his intercession tell us that death did not stop him serving God’s people. You can learn more about him at the website https://frjohnsullivan.ie/. Talking to a young man about the priesthood he said, “If only you knew how much sin, sorrow and suffering there is in the world, and how much a priest can do to comfort, console, and raise the fallen, you would not hesitate.”
Pope Francis on discernment
A series of catechetical talks on discernment by Pope Francis is available on the Vatican website. In the first of them, the Holy Father asks “What does it mean to discern?”
