Pope Video: For mental health ministry

October 1, 2026 in Featured Videos, Pray with the Pope

In his prayer intention for September 2026, distributed by the Popes Worldwide Prayer Network », Pope Leo invites us to pray “For mental health ministry, so that we may know how to welcome those who suffer in silence, support those who care for them, and learn to integrate mental health care into our community life as a living sign of mercy.”

Pope Leo’s intention highlights the importance of supporting people experiencing mental health difficulties, those who care for them, and the role of the Church in promoting understanding, inclusion, and compassionate support within communities. In doing so, we are also invited to reflect on how we can contribute to communities where mental health is understood, people are welcomed and supported, and no one is excluded because of the challenges they face.

The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network has also launched a new global initiative, Pray with the Pope, a website featuring the Pope’s monthly prayer intention videos, together with guidance on how to pray. Resources are available in both written and audio formats. Click here to visit the website ».
