Job vacancy at Manresa

February 25, 2026 in News

Manresa Jesuit Centre of Spirituality is seeking to appoint a Centre Director to provide overall leadership of the Retreat Centre and its associated enterprises, ensuring that all activities are guided by the organisation’s spiritual mission and underpinned by its commitment to hospitality, a lived retreat experience, and strong commercial awareness.

The Centre Director will be responsible for strategy, people, operations, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the Centre operates as both a place of spiritual renewal and a sustainable enterprise.

This is a unique opportunity to lead one of Europe’s most respected centres of Ignatian spirituality at a pivotal moment in its development. The successful candidate will help shape the future of the Centre’s mission, steward its rich heritage, and work with a committed team to expand its reach and impact. This role offers the chance to combine strategic leadership with meaningful service – supporting individuals and groups seeking deeper reflection, spiritual growth, and renewal in the Catholic tradition.

Ideal candidates will bring senior leadership experience, strong organisational and financial acumen, and a deep appreciation and respect for the Ignatian spiritual tradition of the Jesuits. Relevant leadership experience in comparable roles could include school principalships, senior leadership within faith-based or educational institutions, residential or hospitality management within the charity or retreat sector, or the oversight of community‑focused programmes and teams.

The role requires excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to inspire and support staff and stakeholders. Candidates who have managed residential environments, led multidisciplinary staff, or directed mission‑driven organisations with a strong pastoral or wellbeing dimension are especially encouraged to apply.

Safeguarding and Garda Vetting

Appointment to this role will be subject to successful Garda Vetting and the completion of all required safeguarding checks. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining compliance with these requirements.
